Surfing on the boom of the security market, ESI quickly established itself as the European champion of this sector. Thanks to this success, Claude-Philippe Néri, its founder, now exports its software on an international scale! Back on its success story …
A priori, nothing meant Claude-Philippe Néri to work in computer science or in security. But this 60-year old Niçois, holder of a university degree in general mechanics, anticipated the rise of these markets, from the late 1990s, to found his company, ESI (for European Systems Integration). «We were three originally: my partner, Philippe Camilleri, who was responsible for development, a technician for maintenance, and me in charge of sales. But we quickly hired,» says the company manager.
Specializing in the equipment of remote monitoring and video surveillance stations, alarm systems and detectors, ESI has increased its workforce to 48 people in the next fifteen years. It has established itself as the European leader in software solutions for the security market.
«We quickly saturated the French market. Our growth abroad was first of all opportunistic, when French clients, banks for example, opened subsidiaries outside our borders «. Little by little, the group has adapted: software and other websites are translated into five languages (English, German, Italian, Spanish and French). And to strengthen its European reputation, ESI has set up two subsidiaries in Great Britain and Spain. ESI achieves between 35 and 40% of its export turnover.
With operations in 27 countries (Eastern and Western Europe, Africa, Singapore …), ESI achieves between 35 and 40% of its export turnover. The goal is to exceed 50% within two years, consolidating its dominant position in Europe.
«We are the only foreigners to have the acrreditation to work in Germany» says Claude-Philippe Néri, who sees the assurance that ESI «has achieved a credible international positioning». ESI is a member of Bpifrance Excellence.
